Story
Last June Tim was working in the garden at our home Rolfes Hollow, and needed to remove a tree branch to let more light in.
We had a bit of a problem with the pole saw getting stuck in the branch he was cutting, so he had to rig up a scaffold so he could use the chainsaw to continue.
It broke suddenly and without warning smashed into his face and knocked him to the grass below. We believe it was the whiplash injury from that impact that caused all the spinal damage, as well as the serious injuries to his face.
That was nearly 9 months ago, and after selling our house and finding something suitable Tim is coming closer to his discharge date from Stoke Mandeville.
We want to raise funds for power assisted wheels, and another attachment for his wheelchair to enable him to have more mobility around the house, and also so he can go with our beloved dog Sabre on walks. He has missed so much time with him whilst in hospital that this will be a huge boost and achievement for him.
Our life has been totally turned upside down by this devastating accident which has deprived Tim of his immense practical skills and talent, and the life he knew.
Tim’s injury is more serious than we first thought, with his hands badly affected, and he is still unable to eat even after all this time; anything to improve his quality of life, independence and mobility will help his motivation to build a new life.
