Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In April this year I was inspired by my lovely colleague Michaela, who ran the London Marathon.  She trained hard, and from never running at all she completed it in a fantastic time and raised over £1200 for her charity.  She told me it was something we all had to do at least once in our lives.

So she convinced me... I applied... and within 24 hours was offered a place with St John's Ambulance.  I trained with them for First Aid at work, and use it every day.  With 3 children I'd be lost without basic first aid knowledge (most recently Matthew's broken thumb).

I'm not a competitive person (at least I don't think so), so running is great for me.  I'm not a tennis player (can't be bothered to run for the ball), or a swimmer (that's far too boring).  I fill my life with lots of activities, far too many probably, but I need to make space now for the hours of training ahead.  I will do it, but if I know people are supporting me it will make it easier.

Thanks guys!  Anybody who wants to come out and pound the streets with me is more than welcome, it can be lonely out there sometimes! :-)
