Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit  our JustGiving page.

Our beautiful Sarah tragically and suddenly passed away on the 23rd August 2018, aged only 49 years old, from Vasculitis, a condition that developed without warning and which, until 24-36 hours before her death, we had never heard of.

Vasculitis is a rare inflammatory disease which affects about 2-3000 new people each year in the UK. Vasculitis means inflammation of the blood vessels and any vessels in any part of the body can be affected. Primary Systemic Vasculitis is an auto-immune disease with no known cause, although genetic makeup may make some people more susceptible.

Little is known about the disease and at present there is no cure. It can, though sadly not in Sarah’s case,  sometimes be controlled by use of steroids, chemotherapy and immune suppressing drugs.  But relapse is common.

In May, it is Sarahs 50th Birthday and to continue raising awareness we are running the Hackney Half Marathon, hopefully all 13 miles of it !

We would appreciate donations in Sarah’s memory, however small, to help fund research into this disease that so cruelly took Sarah from us.

Thank you  ❤️ Xx Heidi, Char and Grace x
