Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is something that is close to my heart. My father-in-law pasted away in 2016 after just a short illness. When he was diagnosed at the end of 2014 he was told that at the moment there wasn't any chemotherapy specifically for this condition as it was a rare form of cancer. But since his diagnosis and death we have heard of many more people suffering from this and that they are researching forms of treatment to help this condition.
Mesothelioma can affect anyone, it is a cancer commonly caused by exposure to Asbestos. Mesothelioma is a malignant form of cancer usually of the pleura (lining the lung) and is the most common form. But can also be found in the lining of the Chest Wall, Abdomen, Heart and the Testicles.
The UK has the highest incidence in the world of Mesothelioma with approximately 2,500 cases currently being diagnosed each year and over the next 5 years this figure is going to rise.
