We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

In September 2016, Jeana was diagnosed with the violent disease Glioblastoma. This is an incurable form of brain tumour with little to no research and development. Jeana couldn’t just have one, she had two tumours that were grade 4 and our lives were shattered overnight.

With too many hospital trips and much heartbreak, Jeana fought and fought the disease, anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her would agree she was a fighter and a strong woman. We saw the disease quickly take control of her and sadly she passed away in February 2017 at St Barnabas Hospice in Grantham Hospital.

Last year, Gary, Matt and Simon cycled from Grantham through to Great Yarmouth totalling 190 miles in memory of a much-loved Mum and Auntie.

This year we have one more rider (Andy - Matt's brother and our cousin) We are beginning at Grantham and heading to Whitby totalling 220 miles over three days, even crossing the Humber Bridge!

Last year we were overwhelmed by the kind donations from over 60 supporters, this was warmly welcomed from Brain Tumour Research and was donated to fund clinical testing into these horrific diseases that take too many lives.

This year we are looking to achieve a higher mile count and tackle some of the countries toughest climbs, a huge thanks in advance for any support and donations - our family didn't have our Mum home for Christmas, but with us funding more development maybe someone could have theirs.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
