Story

Hello

In November 2011 I ran the New York Marathon in support of a close family friend of mine Peter Cross, who had been diagnosed with leukaemia and was in the process of beating off this horrible illness.

Sadly just 7 weeks after the marathon we got the terrible news that the leukaemia had come back and it meant that Pete had an even bigger fight on his hands. Tragically 6 months later Pete, despite a brave fight, lost his battle against leukaemia on 3rd June 2012.

Pete was originally diagnosed with leukaemia in June 2010, a week after he finished A-Levels and was preparing for the next stage of his life at Southampton University.

Pete was admitted to University College London Hospital cancer ward and overall faced 2 years of a range of intensive and invasive treatments all of which he dealt with showing unbelievable bravery & courage aided with the fantastic support of his parents Jane & Paul.

CLIC Sargent was a charity that offered support to Pete and his parents over the two year period. It is because of their fantastic work that I am running the London Marathon on April 21st 2013 in memory of Peter for CLIC Sargent so that they are able to continue offering the fantastic support to other families who are affected by cancer.

I hope that you can donate as generously as possible, enabling me to reach a target of £1800 for CLIC Sargent. Having been a 'veteran' of 3 previous marathons I know having your support will help that extra bit to complete the marathon.

Thanks for your support

Greg
