Story
We held a charity night on 15th March 2013 in memory of my dearly loved and wonderful partner of 27 years, Harry Boyle, who passed away on 24th September 2012 aged 49.
Harry is very much loved by Family and Friends. We would like to celebrate Harry's life and raise funds for something that was very close to his heart and ours in his memory.
Harry had been diagnosed with Cancer in 2010 and subsequently had a radical operation. Harry recovered well and we believed he had a healthy, happy future ahead.
Devastatingly, Harry's cancer returned in 2012 and was extremely aggressive which resulted in Harry being taken from us very quickly and unexpectantly.
Harry did attend the Beatson during treatment for his illness in 2010/2011 and we were both humbled by the young children who were suffering from Cancer and still smiling.
In memory of Harry, and to celebrate his life, we are holding another charity night on 15th March 2014 in Cumbernauld Bowling Club and we would like to donate all proceeds to Friends of the Beatson and The Beatson Oncology Fund in particular to help the young Children and their families that are affected by Cancer.
When Harry was told his illness was not treatable he asked that no-one feel sorry for him but think instead of the Children impacted by Cancer. Throughout the final weeks of his life Harry never at any point displayed self pity, he showed courage and strength and it would be a great honour to him if we all celebrate his life and do as he asked to generate funds for Friends of the Beatson who provide fantastic help and support for those affected by cancer.
Many thanks for any support you can give.
