Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Declan Guild; Teresa Guild, Jackie Campbell & Fiona Stein are taking part in The EMF Hairy Haggis Team Relay. The 26.2 miles is split into 4 legs, each runner will run one leg. The approximate distance of each leg is shown below: Leg 1:- 8.3 miles, Leg 2: - 5.5 miles, Leg 3: - 8 miles, Leg 4:- 4.4 miles

Stephen Guild (Stevie) a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, boss and football coach died of a brain tumour on 06/08/2012 he was only 49 years old, he fought with courage and dignity until the end. His diagnosis of a GBM in May 2011 was a terrible blow to all who knew him and turned our world upside down; he was focused as ever on fighting this devastating disease and fought with so much courage and determination.

Brain Tumour Research is woefully under-funded and we are trying to do our part to raise some money and awareness. Only 0.7% of cancer research is spent researching brain tumours. Their aim is to raise £7m per year to help fight brain tumours so please support us in this effort.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
