Story

I have worked for the The Sick Children's Trust for five years. I have been a House Manager at Chestnut House in Cambridge and now I am House Manager at Stevenson House in London where I started my journey as an Assistant Manager in 2012.

During my time working here I have met some amazing families. Mums, Dads, Grandma's, Granddads, Brothers and Sisters of seriously sick children needing life saving treatment in hospital. I have also met many incredible brave children who have recovered from some truly dreadful illnesses and accidents. I love what I do, and  I feel very proud to work for an organisation that can give comfort and support to families in some of their most difficult journeys in life. So I wanted do something special, that bit extra.

Now I know many of you that know me, through work and as friends know I love a laugh.  I like nothing more than to make people laugh and really do understand why I get laughed at. It is one of my main pleasures in life, making people happy. SO! Think of me BIG Al as many call me (I don't know why!!) jumping out of a plane strapped to some poor unsuspecting professional parachutist as we ready ourselves to SKYDIVE when I suddenly start screaming like a girl. And trust me I am sure that will happen unless I faint!!

That thought alone should make you laugh and want to donate to my cause. Please give generously.

I am doing this in memory of my Mum Rita who sadly passed away last year. Rita had a great sense of humor and a sharp whit. She would think I was crazy for doing this. Mumfie as we called her had no head for heights. But I know she would be very proud of me. She was thrilled when I started working For The Sick Children's Trust.

I am also dedicating my jump to Henry. He came into my life twelve years ago and I had the wonderful privilege of looking after him as his Manny for many years. He is the apple of my eye and an awesome person. I wanted to do something inspirational to make him proud.

Henry you are the best!  Lots of Love Manny

Lot's of Love

Alan
