Amazing Maisie's fundraising group are determined to raise as much money as they can to support The Lily Foundation to fund research to find a cure for Mitochondrial Disease. A genetic disease that took her life in November 2018 aged just 6 months.

Story

Maisie was a fighter. When she was just two weeks old she battled open heart surgery and sepsis and was diagnosed as being deaf. Her family hoped that this was the worst of it, but she was diagnosed with severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial disease is not very well known, yet everyday in the UK a child is born with it, it's life limiting and currently there is no treatment or cure. After her diagnosis her family although devastated were determined to make the most of everyday with her. Sadly at just 6 months after becoming ill with an infection, Maisie had a cardiac arrest and died in her parents arms. Her parents are determined that Maisie's life wasn't in vain, and I'm helping by raising money so one day babies like Maisie do not have to die. Please support me if you can and visit www.thelilyfoundation.org.uk to find out more about what they do and how the money we raise will make a difference. Thank You
