Story
Hi everyone!
Welcome to my sponsorship page for the London Marathon 2026! Yes, I am going to attempt a Marathon!
For those who know me know that I am generally active, keeping busy with work, the kids and playing netball. I don’t however run! I have ran one 5k event in my life, many years ago, and now I have the best reason ever to run much further…. My amazing, courageous nephew Chester!
Chester was born in Luton hospital and immediately needed life saving medication and support, he stayed in the NICU for 5 days. Once he was stabilised he was transferred to GOSH HDU Cardiac ward where he then went ahead and had two open heart surgeries to stabilise his life long conditions.
Chester has multiple congenital heart conditions….
Tricuspid Atresia
Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome
Pulmonary Stenosis
Ventricular Septal Defect
These conditions will remain with him for life and he will be permanently medicated to enable him to live a fulfilled life as possible.
His time at GOSH remains on going and he will be a regular visitor there throughout his childhood.
I will share more updates and information about Chester’s journey in the near future.
He is a happy and thriving one year old thanks to the outstanding care received from all the staff at GOSH, and I am honoured to be able to fundraise for such a deserving charity so close to my heart.
Thank you for reading and any small donations are so appreciated.
Hollie x (and Chester x)
