Story

Hollie May Evans was born on the 31st May 2016 at The Liverpool Women’s Hospital to devoted parents Claire & Mark, and loving big brother & sister Finley & Lucy. Due to her diagnosed Spina Bifda condition followed by further complications, she was moved to ICU (Intensive Care Unit) & HDU (High Dependency Unit) located at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she then spent nine weeks under 24 hour care. Here, Hollie undergone an operation relating to the Spina Bifda condition, followed by a subsequent four operations on her head to try and resolve a Brain Stem Dysfunction which she had unfortunately and unfairly developed.

After a brave fight, Hollie tragically passed away peacefully on the 3rd August 2016 at Alder Hey Hospital whilst surrounded by her loving family. The cause of death was confirmed as Central Apnoea, Brain Stem Dysfunction & Myelomeningiocoele, and Hydrocephalus (operated).

Hollie's funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Monday 15th August 2016 at St Mary's Church on St Mary's Road, followed by the Crematorium. The wake will be held at The Alicia Hotel, Sefton Park from 12:00 Noon.

To celebrate Hollie's life, we would really appreciate it if the attending men would wear pink ties for the day alongside the women dressed in black & pink.

We kindly and respectfully request that friends & family would refrain from buying flowers, instead opting to donate via this page to the ICU, HDU & the Bereavement Suite all situated at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Due to the round the clock care coupled with the professionalism, courtesy & respect of the excellent staff which we encountered throughout; we would love to be able to present them with any raised funds in order to help enable the continuation of their wonderful work in the future.

Thank you xxx
