Story
Our son Hugo died last year on April 28th, 2017, at 38-1/2 weeks, only a few days before he was due to be born. His loss has been profoundly devastating. Hugo lives on in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
This year on April 28th a close friend of our family, Teresa Heidt, will be running the Skyline Dallas race, in Hugo's memory and honor, to raise funds for the charity of our choice, Tommy's, the baby charity.
We are deeply touched that Teresa is running in Hugo's memory on this very challenging first anniversary of Hugo's death.
We would very much like your help in supporting Tommy's so that in the future no one will have to live through the trauma that is losing one's cherished and much wanted baby to stillbirth.
We have chosen to raise funds for Tommy's because this is the largest charity funding research to prevent stillbirth, the rates of which are horrifically, shamefully high both in the UK and the US. Stillbirth is not inevitable and can be prevented.
Tommy's conducts vital research to find out why stillbirths happen, and how stillbirth can be prevented. By understanding the causes of stillbirth, at risk babies can be identified in time to help them. As well as researching the causes, treatment and prevention of stillbirth, Tommy's also works to improve care for women at risk of, and following, a stillbirth.
We very much appreciate any donation you are able to make for this very worthy cause so close to our hearts, in Hugo's memory.
