We fund research into medulloblastoma to try and find a cure to this cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are going to kayak for 100 miles down the River Wye in July. This will be a very tough trip for two 13 years olds and we are now training hard. There will be about 8 hours of kayaking each day which will be followed by setting up camp by the river in the evenings. We will start near Hay and finish by Monmouth. The trip should take three challenging days.

We would be really grateful if you could support us. All funds are going to support research into medulloblastoma brain tumours. In 2010 Iona's brother Tom died after a long battle with this cancer.

Thanks again,
Lockie & Iona

PS Update. We are thrilled to have raised over £5000 already! Thank you so much to everyone. The hospital in Birmingham have said that any extra funds raised will be enormously welcome, and will go directly into expanding the research programme.

We are raising funds for research into medulloblastoma - the brain tumour cancer that Tom had. The research involves looking at metabolites (the chemicals that are consumed and produced) in tumours using mass spectrometry. Tom was treated in Birmingham and the work will be carried out there.
