We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We're planning to sail the whole of the Southport 24 hour race as a 2 person team - no leaving the boat for 24 hours, in an Enterprise dinghy. Though we completed the race together once before, we are now striving to do better than our respectable 36th of 64 last time. As such we are arranging a decent boat, shore crew, and strategy.

The 24 hour race is mentally and physically tough. Not only do you have to stay awake for the whole time pretty much, its also necessary to be active almost all the time, thinking tactics and physical boat handling.

The RNLI are a fantastic, donation funded organisation - without the donations there is no RNLI. They're relevant not only to sailors, but any coast-goers, saving on average, 24 lives a day.

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
