We fund life saving medical research to beat the world's biggest killers.

Story

In February 2019 my Dad, Arthur Harada passed away from a weak heart.  Earlier in October 2018, he fell down the stairs and was rushed to hospital.  A kidney infection had made him ill which resulted in sepsis.  Whilst at hospital he was diagnosed with a weak inefficient heart.  After a week he was discharged.  Despite the news that 90% of people with his condition don't live a year past diagnosis, my determined Dad got back on with life.

I am running the Great North Run because my dad was a long distance runner,  a skill he apparently picked up from living in Toxeth and one that he was also recognised for, having been awarded Full Cross Country Colours at Chester College.

The BHF was his charity and he was grateful for their support. After diagnosis they provided him with literature, relaxation dvds and weekly fitness classes.  The latter he greatly enjoyed and in fact in the last week of his life, neighbours commented he looked healthier than ever.

Any donations are very welcome!
