Event: Lands End to John O'Groats
In memory of Minnie Skelding
We provide hospice care in Worcestershire to give people the best quality of life

Story

I am doing the Land’s End to John O Groats Bike Ride in memory of my Nan, Minnie who died last October.

The charity I have chosen to ride for is St Richard’s Hospice where Nan attended monthly for her blood transfusions, that undoubtedly gave her several more months of life, which she was always grateful for.  They were also involved at the end of her life, enabling her to spend her last few days in her own home.

St Richard’s Hospice is an amazing place filled with wonderful, kind and generous staff, and, like any other similar organisation, relies heavily on donations to be able to provide a very necessary service to those people with terminal conditions, which could be any of us at any time.

I am now on day eight of my ride. I wondered before I started if I would ever be able to do this because of knee pain during training, but it’s all going well despite the storms, punctures and being very saddle sore.

I am finishing on Wednesday 22nd of August so will have completed the ride in just 12 days.

I say ‘Thankyou’ in advance for any donations that are kindly given.
