Every year one to two percent of the UK's population suffers from gout. This makes sense as gout has historically been known as 'the disease of kings' or 'rich man's disease'. So it is probably safe to assume it is only the people in the top one percent of wealth that get it. I have found out from experience that it seems like people are at higher risk if they spend time on camp sites or are ginger. But it is important to bear in mind that gout is no laughing matter. So bearing all of this in mind I am encouraging people everywhere to take selfies where they are pouting, to share the photos on social media, nominate 2 friends to do the same and text 'GOUT69' with the amount to 70070.

Encouraging people to take pouting selfies for UK Gout Society because I want to raise awareness for gout
The UK Gout Society provides basic information for people who suffer from gout, including information on causes, diet and treatment advice, and links to other organisations that are committed to education, health promotion and the prevention of gout.
