On Monday the 3rd of June I will be attempting to kayak the entire length of the Leeds to Liverpool canal for charity!

The canal is 127 miles long.There are 91 locks, all of which need to be portaged.
Also a portage of almost 2 miles to avoid the 1.5km long Foulridge tunnel !!
All the gear will need to be carried around this obstacle as kayaks are not allowed to enter tunnels for safety reasons !!

I'm hoping to raise a target of £1270 or £10 per mile for CYSTIC FIBROSIS TRUST to help fund genetic research into the hereditary disease that took the life of my uncle 5 years ago.

I'm hoping to complete the task in 6 days,in order to achieve this goal I will need to be travelling at a speed of 3.5 mph for 6 hrs a day for 6 days.I'll be sleeping in a tent along the canal and cooking my own food.

I will be accompanied but "NOT" assisted by Tony Pimblett and Brian Fincher.

I will be tweeting daily,taking photos and making a video blog on the whole experience for those that are interested in following me !!!

I have now completed my journey on Saturday at 2:30 pm  on the 8/6/2013 after 5 days 2 hours. Only 2 hours behind the royal marines that did it 4 years ago. It was hard but i did not want to stop and i  wish i was not there i enjoyed every minute it and knowing the money raised could save someones life made it worth all worth the while.
