Story
This year the second University of Portsmouth RFC v Solent Barbarians Charity Match will be played in memory of Jack Segust, University of Portsmouth RFC member and Portsmouth university student who died earlier this year in a tragic accident.
The game will raise funds for the three charities Midlands Air Ambulance, Help for Heroes and Building Schools for Africa. The game is being played at US Portsmouth's Burnaby Road Ground on Wednesday 19th September, gates open 5.30pm, kick off 7pm. We would love to see you there, but if you can't make it any donation you would like to make will be most appreciated.
Clubs are defined by the people who make up their membership and Jack represented all that was best about UPRFC. If there is one word that sums Jack up it is character; his memorable, full of zest personality, always looking on the bright side with a cheeky smile and also his resolve, wholeheartedness, courage and determination his performances on the pitch personified. Jack was always smiling; so the club felt what better way to remember him than by running out on the pitch, playing a game and competing with smiles on our faces.
In addition to the main event, the evening will include performances by the Award Winning University Show Choir, Dance and Cheerleading clubs. We hope you will be able to join us on an evening in memory of Jack and in support of three really worthwhile causes that will also showcase University of Portsmouth sport at its best.
Thank you for any donations you choose to make.
