Story

Crohn's & Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. I am running to support Crohn's & Colitis UK, and your donation can help Crohn's & Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.

Most people who know me, have known my struggles with Crohns over the last 15 years or so. At some points it has completely crippled me and has caused me to come closer to the end of life than I would like to get. In 2019 I finally decided that the best way forward was to get a stoma bag and defunction the worst part of bowel. I wasn't sure whether I would wake up from surgery with an ileostomy or colostomy. For me the best option had happened and after a 4 hour operation I woke up with a colostomy. I have never looked back.

Crohns and Colitis UK has helped me so much since my diagnosis whether that be through easy to read publications on every aspect of my condition or receiving my radar key from them to help when I was out in public to avoid embarrassing situations.

This is a big, big challenge for me but if Crohns has given me anything, it is the will power to push on through the toughest of times! Follow my training with the strava link!

Anything you could spare would go a great distance to helping others in my past situations :)
