In a moment of madness, after being accosted outside of their office whilst I was parking, Chase Distillery has agreed to team up with Team Sunseeker and take part in the Prudential Ride 100. A gruelling 100 mile bike ride from London to Surrey on 31st July in support of a Charity who contributes to a cause that has affected the lives of friends and family members. Whilst I am a keen cyclist, this is the next step up and will require a lot of blood, sweat, tears and – of course – vodka. Training on my new panic-purchased bike is going well. Whilst not there yet, I am sure I will conquer how to unclip my shoes from the pedal before July! It’s for a great cause too (and I’m not talking about the buns of steel I will be parading post-Prudential). I’d love it if you can help me achieve my fundraising goal – even if it’s the cost of a Williams Gin & Tonic or a Great Chase (The Running Horse prices, of course). Bottoms up! Literally…..

The charity has raised over £1.9 million over the past 10 years. This money is used to fund specialist clinical trials equipment, introduce new initiatives and support further research. Breast cancer clinical trials improve our understanding of the disease, leading to new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat breast cancer.

The funds raised will support the work of the Breast cancer team at PAH Breast Trials who continue to collaborate with all the leading pharmaceutical companies so that patients have access to the latest drugs long before they become the standard of care. Targeted courses are in place to deal with the darker emotional side the disease triggers, programmes such as Fabulous and Beautiful, where patients get the support they need in terms of body image and self -confidence while undergoing treatment.
