On the 22nd of May, I'll be taking part in the Great Manchester Run in aid of Age Cymru.

There are three reasons why you should care about this:

- This 10K will be the tip of the iceberg for what is actually me entering in some kind of premature mid-life-crisis, desperately going to every extreme to distract myself from the fact that I'll soon be graduating and entering into the real post-university world. I'm literally running away from my problems.

- The 22nd of May is actually my 21st birthday, and for some bizarre reason I've decided to spend it running in the rainiest city in the UK instead of holed up next to a warm fire steadily drinking my bodyweight in beer.

- In all seriousness, running has done me a lot of good lately, and I think it would be a great idea to do some good for others too with it. I'll be raising money for Age Cymru, who provided my family with a lot of help and advice when my gran was taken into hospital last year.
