Story

"Jamie is a 38 year old man who has suffered with addiction over the last few years. He found God in a Christian rehabilitation centre called Remar in Ireland which inspired him to do many good things, including helping the homeless which he loved.

Sadly Jamie suffered an acquired brain injury in May 2020. This resulted in paralysis down his right hand side: additionally he suffered with broken ribs and a shattered eye socket. Jamie's family were told he was lucky to be alive, they were told to expect the worst and to hope for the best.

The Remar family held a prayer meeting for him and people from all over the world, along with his family and friends lit a candle for him and held Jamie in their prayers.

From that day on Jamie has never looked back and he realised that God had saved his life for a reason. Jamie has gone from strength to strength and he has fought to regain the use of his right side. Jamie believes that all staff at Rookwood Hospital are angels sent from God to help others. Jamie has also been inspirational; motivating and encouraging other patients at Rookwood Hospital through their own journeys.

Jamie's aim is to raise funds for the Prop Appeal which helps those patients with acquired brain injuries at Rookwood Hospital. Jamie intends to raise money by completing the Virtual 3 Peak Challenge. He has allocated himself 3 weeks to complete 17 miles on a treadmill, this is in addition to the  regular  rehab he recieves. Please support Jamie by donating to this incredible cause. " Jamie and his family

"When we first met Jamie he had no movement in his right arm and very little movement in his right leg. He had been so determined with his rehab and has exceeded everyone's expectations, now walking around unaided. He will be missed when he leave Rookwood but we know he will go on to do great things.
