From 1st July for 8 weeks, my colleagues and I at Whyte and Mackay will be running, walking, cycling and rowing around the world to raise awareness and funds for mental health charities.  We will cover over 24,901 miles with a goal of raising £50,000.

We recognise that people have been coping with extraordinary challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic.  In many cases this has caused individuals and families untold stress. Loneliness, health issues and financial uncertainty are but three obvious pressures on people's mental health.

The Covid pandemic has only amplified the essential need for mental health services and to do my bit I aim to raise at least £250 by running the distance of 206 miles in 8 weeks.  This is the distance from Edinburgh to Wigan where my family live.  I haven't been able to visit due to Covid-19 so I am running there virtually and hope to raise funds for SAMH in the process.
