Story
As most if not all of you know, my youngest brother Justin died of a heroin overdose on December 5, 2018. Our lives, my life, would be forever changed the day I saw him lying there in the hospital, his last breath taken, the last time I would run my hands through his perfectly thick, wavy hair. Justin lost his chance to live a great story, and after I threw an epic pity party for myself most of 2019, I decided to set out to change the outcome of my life story so that the loss of Justin would not be in vain. Early on in my 2020 journey, which included evaluating my own relationship with alcohol, I was introduced to Herren Project. My life has been impacted by this community in a way that I never imagined, and it is exponentially better because of this team. I have found my people, as they say. So, I am setting out to run my first full marathon, in honor of my brother and all those like him, here and gone, the day before my 48th birthday in London, England. God willing the marathon still takes place I will be there at that start line with a goal of finishing, honoring my brother and leading by example to help others prove to themselves that they too can do hard things. As a wise man or woman once said, we all get the same 24 hours in a day, what sets us apart is what we do with them.
So I am here asking for your help...will you take a minute to help me to my fundraising goal of $10,000 by this October?
