Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

My Grandma spent time in the Prince of Wales in January 2012, they managed her pain, looked after her and even gave her new a hair style which she loved. My grandma enjoyed her time in the hospice and was astounded by the care she received.

In June 2012, she had a stay in the hospice again but sadly this time she did not leave and she lost her battle to cancer surrounded by her family on 13th June 2012. The hospice were amazing, the doctors made sure she was receiving the treatment she needed, the nurses were there everytime she needed them making her comfortable and keeping her pain under control, the catering staff made sure she had her favourite even at the end when she couldn't eat as much. The staff were not only amazing and supportive for my grandma but for all the family, offering comfort, councillig during my grandmas battle and after.

Our family cannot thank them enough which is why we have decided to take part in this organised event in aid of the Prince of Wales Hospice and in memory of my beautiful, amazing grandma.

We will be doing the Zipwire, 30 meters off the ground from the Humber bridge across 250 meters to the shore.

As I am very scared of heights this is a big challnege for me and I will be supported by my fiance, Liam who is also taking part!
