We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 7th September 2014 I'll be leaving Glasgow Green in the heart of Glasgow and cycling across the central belt of Scotland to reach my destination at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh. Why?

18 years ago, at the age of just 65, we lost the best Father and Granda anyone could wish for to the terrible disease of Cancer.

My dad, Jim, was a brilliant family man, friend and a man committed to helping his local community. So much so that after his death a street in Falkirk, Stewart Avenue, was named in his memory.

Cancer is a horrible disease which has no age or class barriers and can hit anyone at anytime. This was driven home to us more recently when we also lost our brilliant brother-in-law Sandy Watson.

The more we can do to help beat Cancer the better and Cancer Research UK are at the forefront of this research.

However, what a lot of people don’t realise is that CANCER RESEARCH UK RECEIVES NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR ITS LIFE-SAVING RESEARCH. Every step it makes towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated.

So please dig deep and donate to this amazing cause.

Thank you for generosity & support!

Jim
