In memory of John Blyth
We Are on call every hour of every day to save lives in Glencoe and beyond.

Story

Sadly my husband, John Blyth, passed away in the night of
23rd/24th January 2017.

He had struggled with illness most of last year, probably
spending more time in the Northern General Hospital than at home, but even so this was unexpected and has come as a huge shock to me and my daughter, to his family, and his friends.

I have only known John for just over 20 years - we met in
1995.  But in that time he completely changed my life and together we had our beautiful daughter, Michaela.  In the time that I have known John, music has been an important part of  both of our lives.  We met through folk music - at
the Dog and Partridge! - and we played and sang together at many formal and informal gigs.  Through his music, John has a huge circle of friends in Sheffield and elsewhere.

John didn't do a lot of mountain climbing while I knew him,
but I have always been aware that when he was younger he did a lot of climbing, in Scotland and elsewhere, and has a lot of mates/friends from his climbing days.  Although John didn't actually belong to a mountain rescue team, like any climber he was very much aware of the good work they do and very grateful to know that they would be there for him if he ever needed them.

Therefore, I have set up this JustGiving page to invite
donations in John's memory in support of the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team.  I haven't announced the date of the funeral yet (I will as soon as I know it), but rather than buying flowers for the coffin please make a donation here instead.

I would also like to say a big thank you to all of John's
friends and family who have left so many heart-warming messages on FaceBook.  If any of you have little anecdotes and/or photos of John that you would like to share, please put them on FaceBook, or send them to me and I can put them on here.
