Story
We have decided on the date of 24th May 2014 to celebrate John's life with a fitting memorial at The Royal College of Physicians in London. This is the same place where he organised his own father's memorial in 1993, and where he wished to have his own. He enjoyed the library there very much.
We are busy making preparations, and you would be most welcome to attend the champagne reception in the afternoon. During the daytime there will be a CML symposium and in the evening there will be a dinner. Some of the focus will be on John's treasured charity Leuka of which he was justifiably proud.
I thank you for your donation today to Leuka which will be go straight to the heart of Leukaemia research to continue the good work that John Goldman dedicated his entire working life to.
All the best, Cassie Goldman
Dear Friends,
You may have already heard, but in case you haven’t, we are heartbroken to inform you that our father died on Christmas Eve after being diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma just three weeks ago. He had been planning to attend ASH right up until his diagnosis.
Even though the situation was bleak, none of you who knew John will be surprised to learn that he showed incredible grace and humour to the very end. He was at home until literally the last hour and was with all his children throughout.
The two most important things in John's life were his family and his medical research. We will always be grateful for the incredible support and friendship you all showed him throughout his extraordinary career.
The family are planning a memorial in the spring and we very much hope you'll be able to attend. Please do send any thoughts or reflections to Suzy and they will be forwarded to us and deeply appreciated.
Although John loved flowers, if you would prefer to make a donation to his charity Leuka, then it would be most welcome.
Yours,
Lucy, Cassie and Jasper
