Story
On 24 Sep 06 I took part in a tandem freefall parachute jump from around 10,000 feet. I must have been mad, jumping out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft! However, it was one of the most exciting things I have ever done, and also the most frightening, as can be seen from the look on my face as we leave the plane! The freefall portion unfortunately lasted for less than a minute but was as near to flying as you can get. The parachute descent itself took over 5 minutes and was quite calm by comparison, except when we manoeuvred around like a kite, which was great fun. The first thing I wanted to do after landing was to get back in the plane and do it all again. The only downside of the day was having to wear the pink helmet and goggles!
So far, I have raised more than £1,500 towards my target of £2,000, and have been delighted with the support I have received. I also decided to further support the charity by paying all the costs of the jump myself so that all donations go straight to JTSMA.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Jennifer Trust for SMA will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now and help me reach my target!
Many thanks for your support.
