Our great friend John Howson died in 2012 from acute myeloid leukaemia, 10 years after I was diagnosed. Together, we have undertaken some brilliant cycle trips, round the Isle of Wight, Coast to Coast, an amazing trip including the islands of Bute, Jura, Islay, Arran and Cumbrae, Normandy, and the Pennine Cycleway to name a few. This year's ride, in true John spirit takes us west over Bwlch y Groes, the highest road pass in North Wales. Julia would be amused by our destination in Maccynlleth for the comedy festival. So we're cycling about 250 miles and climbing a great many hills over four days, returning home on 4th May 2015.
Please donate generously to Cure Leukaemia, a great charity making a real difference based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where John and I were treated.
