I am doing the Dalai Lama Trek in India in October 2020 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Survival rates have doubled over the last 20 years and I want to  support the aim that one day all cancers will be cured by raising money to help achieve this.

I will be walking for 5 consecutive days at altitude, covering a total distance of more than 65km. The trek will be over varied terrain and trails which at times will be very rocky and testing underfoot with steep inclines and descents. The trekking days will be long and I will tackling some significant climbs.

I am doing this because, we as a family have gone through a particularly difficult year, but also over recent years I have seen many people that I know and love be affected by cancer.

I have been inspired by the courage, compassion and kindness shown by people and families when faced with cancer, also professionals who support in a way that will never be forgotten.

I am about to embark on a tough training programme, the thought of which is quite daunting for me but I know that with love and support I will achieve it because this is a fantastic opportunity to raise a lot of money for a great cause.

I will continue to be inspired by the incredible courage and dignity shown by family and friends right to the end so please dig deep and donate now. We can make a difference.
