JumpsTart took to the streets of Edinburgh on Sunday 23rd May to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

The gray clouds and mist cleared into glorious blue sky just as they released Amanda from the starting line. With over 13,500 people taking part, it was great to see the throngs of runners stretching out along the roads ahead down the Portobello Promenade. Katy took up the second leg with a great stride and was cheered on by Maggie's team around mile 12 to keep the momentum going. As the day heated up, Deborah was grateful for the kindness of whoever put their sprinkler out on the pavement to help cool the runners down. Iain held up the team to complete the glory leg and cross the finish line at just over 4 hours and 34 minutes.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the hottest day of the year so far, which made for a gruelling run but a fantastic atmosphere. The Maggie's crew took care of us from start to finish, keeping true to the style with which they care for everyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. Your donations are going a long way to keep such an invaluable service going.

We're still accepting donations, and every little bit goes directly to care for those who need it most. For example, for every £25 we raise, Maggie's provides a 1-hour relaxation therapy session to help those affected by cancer to manage stress and be able to feel more in control with their day-to-day lives.
