Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 15 February 2011 my Grandad, Eric Hyams, lost his battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully in the Jospice care home in Thornton, Liverpool, after spending his final months under the care of the amazing staff who work there. I visited him several times during the final weeks of his life and the staff were always friendly and welcoming to all the visitors and clearly cared for all the patients they looked after. After he passed away, the staff were incredibly supportive and helpful to the whole family.
I have decided to run the British 10k again this year in memory of my Grandad and to raise funds for this worthy cause.
Although Jospice gets some support from public funds at least 70% of the money required to remain open comes from voluntary funding. I would like to raise at least £210 which would be enough to run a bed for a day in the hospice.
