Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Red's JustGiving page.
Red was a beautiful and inquisitive mare who passed away long before she should have. I daren't label her as mine however, as she definitely wore the trousers. She brought joy and laughter to a lot of people and not a day passes that i don't think about her, nor the almost five years I was lucky enough to have her by my side, conquering the world one step at a time. Due to the constant attention she demanded I know I will never be able to forget her and therefore want to have one last fun and no doubt fast filled ride courtesy of her. I would love it if you would join me.
Reds passing in May 2015 surprised and upset a lot of people, i just say we were lucky to have known her. As I'm sure you know, it was grass sickness which ended her life early and therefore the Equine Grass Sickness Fund is very close to my heart. But there is still a lot of research which needs to go into this nasty disease as many things are still unknown.
To help fund for this I would ask that as many people as possible join me and Red's previous owner Andy on a Park and Ride in Lilley (follow here for more details: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/events-and-competitions/events/regional/east-of-england/lilley-park-and-ride-15-may-2016). And that in doing so you could aim to raise a minimum of £20. It would really mean the world to me if you could come along to offer support, even if you are unable to ride, everyone is welcome and it is sure to be a lot of fun!
Any donations will be very gratefully received by me and many other horse owners around the country as hopefully a vaccine or cure will end grass sickness for good, more information can be found on it here: http://www.grasssickness.org.uk
I can't take credit for this idea however as it was entirely Andy's. So I would like to say thank you so much for all the help and support you have offered me as I know it hasn't be easy for you either.
Here is to Red and the other lost horses.
