Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I first met Michelle in March 2003, when we embarked on our journey to become Student Midwives at the University of Manchester. Over the three years of studying we became very close friends and shared very special experiences. In 2006 we qualified as Midwives working for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
Even though we shared the up's and down's of Midwifery, we also shared our experinces as mum's watching our Children grow up. In Feb 2009 Michelle had her third baby, the beautiful Joe. Michelle was such an amazing mum to Connor 15yrs, Jade 14yrs and Joe 3yrs.
But sadly every body who loved Michelle world was to be turned up side down in Oct 2010 when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Following a intensive course of Chemotherapy, followed by a single sided Mastectomy and course of Radiotherapy, Michelle remained positive, strong and un-complaining. Michelle was so inspirational in everything she did.
After her teatment had finished Michelle, Leigh and the three children started to enjoy the normalities of life again, going on holiday, camping and spending family time together (everything Michelle enjoyed in life)!
But sadly in Oct 2011 Michelle was diagnosed with secondary cancer, this time Michelle was not going to recover.
On the 7th December 2011, Michelle went to sleep at home with her family and friend at her side.
Words can never be written to describe the pain and loss of such a beautiful young woman. Breast Cancer has taken away a very precious, mother, wife, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in -law, friend and Midwife.
Doing this walk cannot change the past, but hopefully help to change the future for other Breast Cancer patients. Please support me in my walk to raise money in Michelles memory.
