Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know i lost my brother Alan on July 18th 2016.
What most of you dont know is that Alan had learning difficulties and mental health problems, he was vulnerable. Alan was subject to an horrific attack when he was 15 which changed his life.
If you met Alan he would tell you his story himself.
Alan received some fantastic support over the years from services like Changing Lives and his loving family which helped him to improve his quality of life.
Alan made a lot of positive changes, he started to go Sunderland football games, he went on holiday, he went on long walks, all these were a great achievement for him.
Lots of periods of abstinence followed, he was doing really well.
There was always bumps in the road, but he was a fighter, forever had a smile on his face and never hurt a soul in his life.
Sadly we lost Alan, he passed away in his sleep, not a drop of alcohol in him. He was doing so well.
I had worked in Drug and Alcohol services for 8 years when i decided to try something different, however when Alan died i just knew i had to go back. For him. To give something back. I wanted to help others like my brother.
I know only too well who addicition effects, professionals, non professionals, the well off, the not so well off.
Im doing this to keep Alans memory alive. He would love to see us helping others like him.
Please help if you can to raise as much as we can for this fantastic charity.
For those who dont wish to use the JustGiving page i also have a sponsor form, any donations added to this will also be uploaded as 'offline payments' so you can see your own donation.
