Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Bett died as a result of a stroke on the 7th. September last year, and the Great North Run will be the first anniversary of her death. I am raising funds for the Stroke Association, who believe in life after stroke. They help to support stroke survivors to make the best recovery they can, sadly for Bett the medical staff could only make her final few days as comfortable as possible. She had been very active right up to her death, and had been out for a family meal just 6 days earlier, to help celebrate my birthday. So the sudden stroke that Bett suffered 3 days later came as a great shock to all her family.
The Stroke Association campaign for better stroke prevention and care, and any money I can raise will help to fund research to develop new treatments and ways of preventing stroke. The Stroke Association are a charity that relies on public support, to change the lives of people affected by stroke and reduce the number of people who are struck down by this devastating disease.
I will be attempting to run the 13 miles and 192 and a half yards just 6 days after my 60th birthday, so need as much incentive as possible to make sure I get to the finishing line on the day.
Please help me to make a difference today.
