Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Manchester Marathon in April in memory of my sister Molly.

My family lost Molly to her mental health in 2017, and in the wake of this my parents worked with SYCF to set up the Young Peoples Health and Well-being fund.

Statistics around young people and suicide and other mental health issues are pretty startling, with 7% of 17 year olds stating that they’d made an attempt on their own life in the past year.

Sadly not enough support is available through the NHS when it’s needed so funds like this are essential to saving and supporting other young people and their families.

This is my first ever marathon so quite a mean feat, but training is going well and the longest run I’ve done so far is 17 miles. Any tips for making it through this last section of training welcome.

Also anyone local to Manchester or not too far away please come down and support on the day, I know seeing friendly faces across the route will be a massive help to make it to the finish line!
