Story

Hello everyone,

Thank you for visiting my Brighton Marathon Fundraising page. On behalf of the Vicky Sergides Foundation, I am running the Brighton Marathon to raise money to help young children whose parents may have passed away.

The Vicky Sergides Foundation was set up to raise awareness for a very rare form of stomach cancer.

We sadly lost our cousin Vicky Sergides in 2015 to this aggressive, asymptomatic disease, and so Vickys sister Marina set up the charity in Vickys name.

Our foundation in memory of our cousin Vicky brings the community together and raises awareness of terminating illnesses. We aim to help families who have experienced the passing of a loved one, and reminding young families that they are not alone in their suffering.

Proceedings will also be donated to our cousin Ninos fight club, who we lost last December. Nino was so loved by everyone and his fight club has been so supportive to Ninos family this year, that I would like to give back.

We appreciate as little as you can give.

PS - I have already fractured my finger in training for this marathon, so wish me good luck ;)

About the charity

Our charity was set up to raise awareness of stomach cancer, to support the incredible research being undertaken in this area and to support families in the North London area who have received a cancer diagnosis.
