Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page for my 1st ever marathon 😬🥰
Here's my story for those of you who don't know it and wonder why I'm putting myself through 26.2 miles 🤣
I was diagnosed with stage 1a1 cervical cancer on 27th December 2018. I went for my routine smear on 20th November 2018 and got letter back through post on 27th November saying I had HPV positive and severe changes. So had to go to the hospital on the 6th of December to have a lletz.
I then received a letter on the 15th december for a letter through to say needed further attention. I had to ring a nurse on 17th December and speak to someone it was then she told me they had found cancer I broke down my world came crashing down before me. I'm lucky enough to be blessed with 2 children and I was worried they would lose their mummy.
I had my consultant appointment on the 27th December and they told me I had cervical cancer and they needed to check if it had spread to my lymph nodes because there wasnt clear margins. So I went for a 2nd lletz on the 16th January and got results on the 25th January 2019 that I got the all clear.
I'm under the hospital for next 10 years for more severe smear tests starting every 6 months and see what outcome is then will go to yearly for 9 years.
I'm taking part in my 1st ever marathon this year to raise awareness of cervical cancer. That 5 minute smear test saved my life. If I can save one other woman's life then I've achieved my goal 🥰
Lose the fear to smear 💖
