Story
I know Facebook's full of people asking for donations, but this is my very very first run and I'm slightly bricking it.
I'll be running a half marathon on Sunday 5th October in Glasgow with the RBS Great Scottish Run. I've only recently started any sort of running, so finishing in one piece would be great.
But then I realised running is a bit pointless, so I thought I'd try and raise a little money for a brilliant local charity to give some purpose to all this running-in-circles malarkey.
Streetwork provide help, services and advice for the long-term and temporarily homeless in Edinburgh. They run a 24 hour crisis centre, providing care for victims of domestic abuse, human trafficking (in Edinburgh, seriously), runaways and sufferers of drug addiction, to name a few. Streetwork also go out into the streets and approach the people no one else will. You can find out more over on their website http://www.streetwork.org.uk
If you've ever been through an Edinburgh winter, you'll know how well spent your donation will be!
Thanks!
