Hi everyone,

I’ve decided to mark my 30 years of being on this earth by doing something well out of my comfort zone by participating in a 5 day trek covering 71km (44 miles) across Jordan to Petra to raise money for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust in May 2022 (the event date in the bio has been changed).

1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime (which frankly is far too many people!) & 1 in 100 women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer in their lifetime. Although the cervical cancer statistic may not seem that high, shockingly 99.8% of cases are preventable. Since the beginning of the pandemic the number of women attending their smear tests has plummeted in addition to the 1.5 million appointments missed annually. We all know that smear tests aren’t pleasant however this could save your life. 

I’ll be upping my walking game & will be taking on the length of the Malvern hills, walking from Reading to Henley along the Thames path as part of my training to get me started. You’ll be glad to know that I have finally invested in some proper walking boots so no more excuses from me about my feet hurting 🙈
