Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After being diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in March 2010 at the age of 28 I now know more than ever how important it is to raise awareness to as many people as possible and also as much money as possible to find a cure!!!!
It is truly shocking how many people are affected by breast cancer on a daily basis just looking at my own story- the first in the immediate family to be diagnosed with breast cancer, at a much younger age than you would assume somebody that would be when diagnosed with it would be and absolutely no other symptoms apart from a single lump and absolutely no idea of how my life would be turned upside down and inside out several times within 12 months.
It is because of this Jeni and I decided to take part in a trek in 2015 to Machu Picchu where with the fantastic support of all of our friends and family we raised over £10k.
However Laura’s Breast Friends haven’t finished yet.......Three members of the Royal Navy are riding 200 miles in one day to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. Chris Oliver, Craig Trimnell & Andrew Roberts are braving 15 hours in the saddle using peddle power alone to carry them the 200 miles around the hills of Devon on Sunday 26th July 2015. Keen cyclists, they have been training hard for weeks to develop the fitness needed to be able to ride the distance and are looking forward to achieving the goal and raising money for such a fantastic charity. They are being supported by Chris's wife Joanne and Friend Andrew Baker. Starting in Plymouth they will head north west to Launceston, north to Holsworthy, then turning north east to Great Torrington, then on to Tiverton. They then head south to Exeter and along the south coast through Torbay before heading inland, passing Totnes and Ivybridge. Finally heading up onto Dartmoor for the final 25 miles finishing where they started.
Lets give it one last push to show the lads our support and make this gruelling trip one with fantastic outcomes and make their aching bones (and saddle sore) really worthwhile……best of luck boys we are all behind you
Thanks once again.....
