Story
For those of you that know me you will know that throughout my life I've had various stages of 'sportyness' however have never, ever been a long distance runner.
Just over a year ago I joined BMF (British Military Fitness) with a view to losing weight and getting fit again. In the process I've made some great 'shuffle' buddies, who have reignited my competitive spirit and have helped me find my 'running feet'!
Over the last couple of months they have accompanied me on many a 'shuffle' through rain and wind and a wee bit of sunshine too and they have now inspired me to enter a proper race!
I took quite a bit of time deciding to run this race however deciding who to run it for was easy. The good people at Dorothy House looked after my Grandad (or Da as he was more well known to me) for quite some time. They were absolutely fantastic and made a very difficult time for all of us so much easier. I cannot thank them enough and am now so glad that I have the opportunity to give them something back.
I know times are hard for us all and that's really not just a cliche, but if everyone I know through work, family, friends and facebook donates just £2 I should reach my target easily - what's more my workplace will double anything I get up to a value of £300! So please, if you can spare just £2 I'd really appreciate it and if you can spare more then all the more power to you!
PS For those who can't spare anything then come along on the day and cheer for me, it will make all the difference in the world I promise!
