Story

Thank you for visiting this page in memory of Laura Sharman (aka. Wally).  Any donation you make, at any time, will be so greatly appreciated by Willow Foundation and all of Laura's family and friends.

This page has been initially set up in order to see what we can raise from the skydive, but will remain open in case anyone would like to donate in the future to remember Laura on any special days in yours or her life.

Laura made an impression on everyone she met. Always smiling, no matter what else was going on, and never wanted for anything but her family to be happy and healthy (actually, she often wanted biscuits too).

Before Laura found out she had cancer, she expressed her desire to skydive for her 30th birthday. A few of us decided it was something we all ought to do at least once in our lifetime, so agreed to do it with her. Laura then sadly found out she had breast, liver and bone cancer at the age of just 29.

Just before Laura passed away, Willow Foundation made it possible for her to fulfil her wish of staying in a windmill for a weekend with her husband Peter and young daughter Ava. This created some lasting memories and family photos, all thanks to Willow and those who fundraise for them.  It's amazing what the human body can do to give us these special moments - Laura lost her battle just 2 weeks later.

So...having previously agreed to jump out of a plane, we felt we should still go ahead with it to honour her memory and do it for her as she is no longer able to.  We decided it would be very fitting to do this on her birthday in May 2016. Which happens to be a Friday.  The 13th.  Yes, that's right, Friday the 13th, and Laura will be looking down on us crying her eyes out with laughter.

Let's make Wally proud xx
