Story

In September 2019, I will be taking part in Leg 1 of  the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, racing across over 7000 miles of the Atlantic Ocean between London and Punta del Este, Uruguay. Through my efforts, I will be raising funds for four charities in memory of family and close friends whose experiences have been a huge motivational factor for me to take on this challenge:

Cancer Research UK:  In memory of my dad (Jim) who lost his battle with prostate cancer in 2007 and good friend Simon Martin who recently lost his brave, and tragically short battle - www.cancerresearchuk.org

The British Heart Foundation: in memory of my brother-in-law Stuart McGann who sadly passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45 from a heart condition in 2011 leaving my sister Nicola and niece Katie (who was 8 at that time) and nephew Ross (who was 6 at that time) -  www.bhf.org.uk

Barra Island Lifeboat: in memory of my Friend Ryan McGuckin and his friend Iain (John)  MacDougall who lost their lives in a tragic diving accident in 2017 despite the heroic efforts of the Barra Island Lifeboat Crew - www.rnli.org/find-my-nearest/lifeboat-stations/barra-island-lifeboat-station

Celtic FC Foundation: to support the excellent work they do for society’s most vulnerable, particularly the fantastic work they do in relation to Dementia support as this is a condition which has affected my family - charity.celticfc.net

I am kindly asking you to support me with a donation – no matter how big or small – to support the work of these great charities
