AIMS

THE AFRICAN AND CARRIBBEAN COMMUNITY CUP

Our first event is charity football event in memory of the late and great Mrs Pamela Campbell – Morris who worked tirelessly to raise the profile and awareness of Prostate Cancer amongst black men.

The tournament will be held at Highfield Rangers FC on the 15th Many start at 9am and will consist of 7 teams competing in 9v9 football game made up of teams from Leicester’s Antigua and Barbuda, Cameroon,  Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis,  Monserrat, Sudan and Zimbabwe community. (Each team will be allowed two guest players from another cultural community).

PROSTATE CANCER

Every 45 minutes, one man dies from prostate cancer – that’s
more than 11,500 men every year. The level of risk of prostate cancer in black men is higher at one in four as opposed to a generalised risk of one in eight men. That risk rises for men over 50 or who have had prostate cancer in their family history.
