Story
In 2018 I realised that my world was getting smaller, my confidence ebbing away and with it my independence. I made the decision to apply for a Guide Dog not feeling deserving and unsure if it was for me.
Fast forward to 6th May 2019 and I started training with Geoffrey. He was confident, stubborn and a bit of a minx. By the end of week one the task was overwhelming and I nearly gave up, the amazing staff talked me through it, being encouraging but very accepting that deciding not to continue could be the best thing for me. After a weekend of having a dog in the house week 2 of training started amd it CLICKED!
Since then I've never looked back, qualifying as a working pair, adventuring together, surviving isolation of the pandemic together and getting back out there again.
Anything I can do to give back and help others get their own 'Geoffrey' then I will happily do it. I will be ably supported by my guide Toni who is also running London Marathon for Guide Dogs in April 2023 (crazy lady!)
